Job Description
The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for processing accurate and timely weekly payroll for ABM’s Aviation team. This role involves entering and verifying employee timecards, managing deductions and adjustments, and ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and company payroll policies. The coordinator serves as the primary contact for payroll-related inquiries, audits data for accuracy, and collaborates with HR and managers on personnel changes.
Additional responsibilities include payroll reporting, year‑end processing, maintaining confidential records, and supporting administrative tasks and process improvements.
Hour: Monday to Friday & Some Weekends Day time hours
Location: 5901 Century Blvd., Los Angeles, CA - Near LAX
Work Type: Hybrid work arrangement (4 days in‑office, 1 day remote)
Pay: $25‑$29/hour

Responsibilities- Process accurate and timely weekly/bi-weekly payroll by entering, reviewing, and verifying employee timecards, hours worked, deductions, and adjustments
- Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and company payroll policies
- Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll inquiries, answering general payroll questions and resolving employee concerns regarding pay, timekeeping, and deductions
- Audit payroll data regularly to identify and correct discrepancies prior to payroll submission, with knowledge of penalties associated with payroll errors
- Coordinate with HR and department managers regarding new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, and other payroll-related updates
- Process termination requests and manage wage garnishments and levies in accordance with legal requirements
- Assist with payroll reporting, including wage summaries, labor reports, and audit requests
- Support year-end payroll processes, including W-2 review and distribution
- Maintain secure and organized payroll files, adhering to confidentiality standards and record retention requirements
- Host new hire orientations and provide payroll onboarding support
- Participate in special projects and assist supervisor/manager with payroll process improvements as assigned
- Provide general administrative support, including filing, copying, scanning, and distributing mail when needed
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional payroll or accounting coursework preferred
- At least 1 year of payroll, accounting, or administrative experience involving payroll systems or timekeeping software
- Knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to payroll and employment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel (formulas, data entry, and reporting)
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent confidentiality, accuracy, and organizational skills
- Strong customer service and communication abilities when interacting with employees and management
