Our client is seeking a dynamic Human Resources professional who can collaborate closely with leadership teams to understand operational goals and develop people‑focused solutions that support overall business success. This role plays a key part in shaping HR initiatives, improving employee engagement, and strengthening organizational performance.
Key Responsibilities- Works alongside managers at various levels to assess workforce needs and align HR strategies with organizational priorities, with a strong focus on enhancing employee retention and engagement.
- Supports the rollout of HR programs, processes, and long‑term initiatives across the division.
- Partners with operations and training teams to evaluate skill gaps and contribute to the creation and delivery of effective training content.
- Assists operations leaders in identifying staffing requirements and may participate in hiring efforts for union hourly employees as well as exempt and non‑exempt roles.
- Acts as a primary contact for employee relations matters, partnering with leadership to resolve workplace concerns and address union‑related issues when applicable.
- Coaches managers on topics such as employee and labor relations, EEO compliance, diversity concerns, and fair employment practices.
- Interprets company policies and ensures consistent application of organizational guidelines and regulatory requirements, including collective bargaining agreements when relevant.
- May facilitate onboarding sessions and help deliver internal development programs.
- Ensures completion of recurring HR reports—weekly, monthly, and ad‑hoc—accurately and on schedule.
- Reviews and responds to employment‑related inquiries from agencies, conducting fact‑finding investigations and recommending appropriate actions.
- Contributes to overall HR and organizational objectives by supporting additional projects and tasks as needed.
- Minimum 2 years in a generalist HR capacity.
- Exposure to industries such as transportation, hospitality, manufacturing, or food services is highly valued.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Ability to thrive in fast‑paced, deadline‑oriented environments.
- Strong leadership abilities with experience guiding or supporting team functions.
- Background in labor relations is preferred.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Multilingual abilities are a plus.
- Solid understanding of federal and state employment regulations.
- Proven capability in relationship building, cross‑functional teamwork, and talent acquisition.
- Skilled in managing multiple tasks independently and with sound prioritization.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a proactive and collaborative approach.
- Deep knowledge of EEO/Title VII requirements, including experience conducting investigations and preparing formal responses.
- Ability to introduce process improvements that enhance workplace culture and operational effectiveness.
- PHR certification is an advantage.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) is preferred
