Job Title: Employee Relations Manager (Temp-to-Hire)
Location: Mid-City Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)
Compensation: $33–$38/hour (DOE), conversion to $70K–$80K
Type: Temp-to-Hire

About the Role
Our nonprofit client is seeking a bilingual Employee Relations Manager to join their People Support Services team. This hybrid role, requiring two days per week onsite in the Mid-City Los Angeles area, is ideal for a professional with strong experience in employee relations and a passion for supporting mission-driven organizations. The Employee Relations Manager will be responsible for investigations, conflict resolution, and employee engagement, helping to ensure a fair, inclusive, and positive workplace culture.

The client is looking for someone who can start immediately.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, providing coaching and support to staff and managers.
  • Conduct fair, thorough, and confidential investigations into employee complaints, grievances, and workplace concerns.
  • Advise leadership on performance management, corrective actions, and disciplinary issues to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Partner with People Support Services and leadership to develop engagement strategies that foster trust, inclusion, and retention.
  • Promote organizational values of Access, Belonging, Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity (ABIDE) in all interactions.
  • Support initiatives such as employee surveys and workplace assessments to enhance organizational culture.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of employee relations experience (required).
  • Bilingual in Spanish (required).
  • Strong knowledge of HR policies, performance management practices, and labor/employment laws.
  • Proven experience handling investigations and conflict resolution.
  • Experience in the nonprofit sector preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Approachable, discreet, and professional with the ability to build trust at all levels.
  • Degree or SHRM or HR certification is a plus, though not required.
