The Manager, Talent Acquisition provides hands-on leadership to support the rapid growth and expansion from California to new territories in full-cycle recruitment across all levels of the organization—from executive leadership to frontline hourly roles. This role is responsible for building talent pipelines, ensuring culturally relevant hiring practices, and fostering relationships with diverse communities to attract top talent across all levels. Partnering with leadership and management, the manager will oversee high-volume hiring for new store openings and implement efficient, scalable recruitment processes.

The role requires expertise in employer branding, compliance with multi-state hiring regulations, and leveraging recruitment technologies. The Manager, Talent Acquisition is also responsible for maintaining a compelling and compliant Career Site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to meet the organization’s staffing goals, including hiring open positions.
  • Lead initiatives to attract diverse talent across California and out-of-state locations, aligning with company growth objectives.
  • Oversee the creation and execution of recruitment marketing campaigns, leveraging digital and traditional media tailored to a Hispanic grocery chain.
  • Building robust talent pipelines across functions and geographies
  • Embedding culturally relevant and inclusive hiring practices
  • Strengthening employer branding and candidate engagement
  • Ensuring compliance with multi-state hiring regulations
  • Leveraging recruitment technologies to streamline and scale processes

Recruitment Operations
  • Establish streamlined recruitment processes, incorporating pre-hire evaluations, behavioral assessments, and early performance evaluations.
  • Monitor and improve recruitment metrics, including time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, and candidate quality.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to ensure alignment of candidate profiles with departmental needs and organizational values.
  • Diligently assess all components of Recruitment Plans against results in order to pivot and design alternate recruitment plan strategies.
  • Consistently reviewing and periodically presenting results to Management for review and discussion to determine any shifts to course of action.
Candidate Engagement
  • Develop passive candidate initiatives to maintain a robust talent pipeline, particularly for high-demand roles.
  • Enhance candidate experience through transparent communication and personalized support during the hiring process.
  • Introduce incentive-based employee referral programs to boost internal recruitment efforts.
  • Mentor and develop a team of recruiters to deliver consistent results and maintain high engagement.
  • Provide training on recruitment best practices, DEI principles, and applicant tracking system (ATS) optimization.
  • Conduct regular reviews to assess team performance and address skill gaps.
  • Leverage applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HR dashboards to analyze recruitment trends and make data-driven decisions.
  • Implement digital solutions to streamline job applications, improve candidate sourcing, and enhance workflow efficiency.
  • Develop reporting frameworks to share recruitment insights with HR leadership and executive teams.
Career Site Oversight and Compliance
  • This role is responsible for ensuring that the company’s Career Site is compelling, up-to-date, and fully compliant with legal and regulatory standards. The Manager, Talent Acquisition will collaborate with internal IT resources and/or approved external vendors to ensure the site meets both functional and branding expectations, while supporting a positive and inclusive candidate experience.
Qualifications
  • Education
    :
    Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience
    : 5+ years in recruitment or talent acquisition, with at least 2 years in a managerial role. Experience in multi-state and high-volume hiring environments is a plus.
