With over 100k+ hours of content and 200k+ creators, Pocket FM has one of the largest libraries on the planet and we have grown a community of 100 million listeners, spending an average of over 150 minutes in-app every day. Total streaming of Pocket FM audio series now tops 4 billion minutes monthly.
We are seeking a strategic and people-driven HR Business Partner to support our rapidly growing team. This role will act as a trusted advisor to business leaders and employees, offering hands-on support and guidance across all core HR areas. You will help shape and scale our people operations as we grow, ensuring we maintain a strong culture and high performance across our workforce in California and throughout the U.S.
The HRBP will play a critical role in employee relations, organizational design, performance management, compliance, and workforce planning. This position requires a deep understanding of California labor laws and multi-state employment practices, as well as the ability to influence and coach at all levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the primary HR business partner for assigned business groups across the organization.
- Provide proactive support in performance management, coaching, employee relations, and organizational design.
- Advise on team structure, headcount planning, and change management during rapid growth and transformation.
- Act as a culture champion by driving engagement, morale, and retention strategies.
- Guide managers through employee lifecycle events including promotions, terminations, and corrective actions.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with California and federal labor laws, as well as multi- state employment regulations.
- Conduct stay interviews, exit interviews, and feedback loops to inform HR strategies.
- Analyze HR metrics and trends to advise leadership on workforce health, risks, and opportunities.
- Support and implement DEI initiatives, internal mobility efforts, and talent calibration reviews.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Legal, Finance, and department heads on people-related initiatives and policy updates.
- Champion internal communication and support change management strategies across teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
- SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar HR certification.
- 5+ years of progressive HRBP experience, preferably in high-growth or startup environments.
- Strong knowledge of California employment law and experience supporting multi-state teams.
- Proven ability to balance strategic thinking with tactical execution.
- Experience with HRIS platforms such as Bamboo
HR, Lattice, or similar tools. - Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills
- Term: Full-time
- Compensation: $125k-$165k Annually
