As the Executive Chef at Hotel Bel-Air, your compensation will range between $170,000 - $180,000 annual salary and up to 30% your base salary in management incentive.

What you'll do
  • You will be responsible for overseeing the development and mentorship of the culinary leadership team and department to ensure our guests receive nothing but the best experience.
  • Innovates and creates activation experiences throughout the property.
  • Have a high level presence in the kitchen that drives teamwork and consistency.
  • In alignment with our culinary vision, sustain and create a robust wine and beverage program with the Food & Beverage Director.
  • Partner and maintain close relationships with local purveyors, including farms, fishmongers and specialty purveyors.
  • Drive guest engagement experience throughout all outlets; seek to understand the guest perspective.
  • Support the emotional connections our guests have with HBA through our culinary vision.
  • Take ideas from concept to execution, managing cost, timing, and feedback.
  • Run a highly successful and pressurized operation while maintaining the highest standards of food quality and budgetary controls.
  • Own human capital management including learning and development, leadership reviews, coaching and mentoring.
  • Own the hotel’s culinary program to deliver incredible experiences and entice repeat business.
  • Act on initiatives directed by DC global guest loyalty & recognition leaders and global F&B consultants.
  • Focus on insights from guest feedback during menu engineering; enable guest-centric recognition through planning initiatives.
  • Create menus, concepts and experiences that align with organizational values and drive positive financial results.
  • Balance creativity with budget and deadline management and support development of the culinary management.
  • Ensure financial goals are met; ensure capital expenditures support guest-focused initiatives and team needs.
  • Proactively focus on menu engineering and design for future deadlines; participate in Senior Leadership Executive meetings as a Senior Leader.
  • Engage with catering and banquet leadership during events planning and execution.
  • Leverage the HBA brand and chef relationships to create signature events.
  • Develop and drive wellness initiatives with the Director of Spa.
  • Partner with Sales & Marketing to create communication plans for activations.
What you'll bring

  • High degree of creativity with a pulse on industry trends; able to develop and communicate the culinary vision and execute ideas; coach and lead inclusively to maximize engagement and performance.
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong customer service ethic.
  • English is the primary language used in our hotel.
  • Bachelor’s degree in hotel or restaurant management.
  • Previous experience at a luxury hotel as an Executive Chef is preferred.
  • High volume events experience.
  • Manage team of 50+ employees and leadership team of 5+.
  • Understanding and ability to operate Hospitality systems – Purchase management, guest experience metrics, Microsoft Office, etc.
