Salary: $8,265.00 - $10,066.00 per month
New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.

The Clinical Social Worker (CSW) functions as a treatment team member. The CSW provides case management, individual treatment, and group treatment for patients committed to the Department of State Hospitals. The CSW evaluates patients upon admission, during their hospital stay, and through the discharge process. Guided by their clinical opinion, the CSW determines the patient s avenues for release from hospital care, coordinates discharge resources in the community, and assists with the patient s transition to a community setting.
The CSW serves as a liaison for outside entities such as the courts, continuing care units, and social supports.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master s degree in Social Work from an accredited school of social work and registration with the California Board of Behavioral Services (BBS) as either ACSW or LCSW.
Desirable
Qualifications:
A minimum of 1 year of work experience as a Clinical Social Worker in a mental health facility is highly desired.
Eligibility:
Permanent civil service status, be reachable on an employment list, have transfer eligibility, or have reinstatement eligibility. If you do not have eligibility, you must take the exam.
