Job Description
As a Clinical Research Associate I, you will work under the direction of a Clinical Research Coordinator, Research Program Administrator, Research Nurse, or other supervising staff to support the coordination and implementation of noncomplex research studies. Responsibilities include data collection, prescreening of participants, scheduling visits, assisting with IRB submission activities, budget and billing tasks, and ensuring compliance with federal and local regulations.
PrimaryDuties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the coordination and implementation of noncomplex research studies.
- Collect, evaluate, and abstract clinical research data; may assist in designing data collection forms and enter data into Electronic Data Systems (EDCs).
- Complete Case Report Forms (CRFs).
- Assist with prescreening of potential research participants and schedule research visits; provide supervised or independent patient contact for long‑term follow‑up patients.
- Assist supervising staff with regulatory submissions to the Institutional Review Board (IRB) including adverse event reports and safety letters.
- Assist with clinical trial budgets and patient research billing.
- Prepare and ship samples; maintain study supplies and kits.
- Ensure compliance with protocol and overall clinical research objectives, including FDA and local IRB requirements and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines, while maintaining patient confidentiality per HIPAA.
- Serve as a point of contact for external sponsors on select trials, responding to sponsor inquiries and attending meetings under supervision.
- High School Diploma / GED required;
Bachelor's Degree in Science, Sociology, or related field preferred. - Preferred one year of clinical research related experience.
