Compensation

In accordance with California law, the expected salary range for this position is posted with this position. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

About the Program
  • Residential Treatment Program (STRTP):
    This short-term residential therapeutic program provides services to pregnant, parenting, and at‑risk young women (and their children) ages 13‑18 in the foster care and/or juvenile justice system. These youth are typically placed by the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) or Probation Department.
Role Summary

This position will be responsible for providing comprehensive mental health initial assessments and mental health services to ensure quality client care. Ensure documentation adheres to DMH standards. Participate in an interdisciplinary team to provide a healthy, therapeutic, and safe environment for program participants.

  • Schedule:

    Monday - Thursday, 10:00 AM – 07:00 PM;
    Friday 10:00 AM – 06:00 PM; alternating Friday OFF (9/80 schedule)

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Screen and review all referrals made to STRTP to assess for program appropriateness within required time frames.
  • Complete STRTP intake documentation, including but not limited to initial assessments and care plans.
  • Assist in the completion of the on‑site admission process in collaboration with clinical and program teams.
  • Collaborate with treatment team to ensure quality client care. Assist with the development and/or facilitate Child and Family Team (CFT) meetings, which includes multidisciplinary professionals, the child and family, extended family members, and informal community supports, while aligning with the Integrated Share Core Practice Model.
  • Conduct visits to schools and/or other service providers in order to help client achieve their service plan and treatment plan goals.
  • Provide 24‑hour availability and crisis intervention on an as‑needed or regularly scheduled basis, which may include weekends and evenings.
  • Assist client in the incorporation of informal supports, natural family helpers, and other community resources.
  • Manage community and family crises involving children and parents, if applicable. Document client services in accordance with DMH standards.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or related field required.
  • Registration with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, required.
  • 1+ year experience providing in‑home services, working with underserved communities, high‑risk children, adolescents, and their families preferred.
  • Physical ability to perform Pro‑ACT and administer First Aid/CPR required.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid California Driver’s License and a driving record acceptable to the agency’s insurance carrier.
  • Bilingual in Spanish, required.
