Medical Assistant
Under the supervision of a licensed practitioner, the Medical Assistant will perform non-invasive routine technical supportive services of clinic patient care relating to therapeutic and diagnostic functions, following established policies & procedures, and techniques. The supervising licensed practitioner must be physically present in the treatment facility for the Medical Assistant to perform non-invasive technical supportive services. The Medical Assistant also provides a variety of administrative, assistive & supportive clinical and outreach activities.
The Medical Assistant cannot evaluate or synthesize data.
Direct & Administrative: Registered Nurse Supervisor, Program Manager, Clinic Administrator or designee
Technical/Clinical: Licensed Independent Practitioner in consultation with the Director of Nursing Services or designee
Qualifications:Additional requirements include maintaining CPR certification, demonstrating dependability, effective communication skills, professionalism, cultural sensitivity, and flexibility in scheduling. Fluency in English and Spanish, confidentiality, proficiency with electronic medical records, and valid driver’s license are also required.
