Job Summary And Responsibilities Join our team as a Mental Health Technician and contribute to the well-being of our patients. In this role, you will be an integral part of the healthcare team, providing direct patient care and supportive services under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. This position requires access to keys for the locked unit and patient belongings safe, ensuring the safety and security of our patients and their belongings.

• Assist with patient/family care needs from admission to discharge.
• Monitor patient on Q15 min. observations including (Q5, LOS, and 1:1 obs.)
• Accurately monitor and record patient VS and intake and output and daily activities, including patio breaks.
• Assist Nurses with patient care to include Groups, Activities of daily living, as needed
• Must be able to effectively communicate with patients in crisis situations and assist RNs with restraining patients
• Assist in maintaining adequate stocks and supplies items
• Assist with cleaning functions to maintain unit
• Keep medical record updated, including legal requirements
• Documents according to policy and procedure, standards and guidelines

• High School Graduate or equivalent required
• Minimum of one (1) year mental health worker experience working with psychiatric patients either in an inpatient or residential setting required.
• Current AHA BLS card.
• Must maintain current Fire Safety cards.
• CNA or EMT Preferred
