Responsibilities
  • The Clinical Informatics RN - Case Management (Inpatient) provides mentorship for operational groups and end users as the liaison between EIS and the customer for strategic, tactical, and day-to-day planning of system implementations, upgrades, improvements, and ongoing end user support.
  • Facilitates discussions and partners with leaders to manage project and optimization request intake, including prioritization and coordination across diverse business areas.
  • Help evaluate, select, and integrate new technologies. Translate requirements and ensure efficient workflow design and system build to best serve clinical and revenue cycle end users and patients.
  • Under limited supervision, manages projects including needs analysis, design, development, testing, training, documentation, and communication to business owners.
  • Ensure effective processing of project, optimization, and issue request information. Log and track requests, gather clear problem definitions and goals, and advance prioritization.
  • Establish working relationships with operational personnel, especially senior department management and clinicians.
  • With guidance from leadership, ensure project goals, milestones, and implementation dates are set and achieved.
  • Identify problems or barriers and communicate with EIS leadership and project sponsors to resolve them.
  • Track project issues and ensure resolution; identify critical paths and required predecessor tasks.
  • Compile milestone lists and communicate with user areas to ensure all tasks are included.
  • Develop and implement testing plans; document current and future state workflows with stakeholder engagement.
  • Monitor project status and ensure appropriate monitoring tasks are implemented; conduct and lead project meetings, including agenda, notes, and follow-up items.
  • Provide status updates to project sponsors and assist other applications project managers/leaders in scope definition and identifying alternatives.

Hybrid Remote = must currently live in Los Angeles area or be willing to relocate for onsite requirements.

Qualifications

Experience Requirements:

  • Two (2) plus years of clinical experience as an RN or NP in an inpatient setting;
    Case Management experience preferred.
  • In-depth understanding of departmental operations and processes, as well as clinical nursing policies and procedures.
  • Solid grasp of clinical, financial, and/or patient management healthcare applications or systems.
  • Understanding of the healthcare applications suite and their place in acute care, physician, ambulatory, and ancillary settings.
  • Excellent clinician and physician relationship skills.
  • Ability to translate end-user workflow and requirements into application requirements/design.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Educational/License Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Health Informatics, Nursing, or related field (BSN or MSN highly preferred).
  • Current License as Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner in CA (highly preferred).
