• Performs computer entry, filing, telephone communication, and other clerical duties.
• Demonstrates good telephone etiquette and greets patients and visitors politely.
• Possesses good communication skills.
• Maintains adequate knowledge of laboratory test terminology.
• Exhibits working knowledge of phlebotomy and equipment for specimen collection from newborns to geriatric patients.
• Processes specimens in pathology, microbiology, immunology, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, chemistry, and blood bank.
• Processes specimens for reference laboratory.
• Stocks and orders routine supplies.
• Keeps storage areas, trays, centrifuges, and collection areas clean.
• Places specimens on laboratory instruments in accordance with policy and procedures.
• With documented training, may perform instrument preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, quality control assistance, primary culture inoculations, slide staining, subculture from liquid media.
• Assists with Pathology training and evaluation.
• Runs lab equipment and performs other duties as assigned by the department manager/director.

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory experience performing similar job functions preferred.
• State certification as CPT I or CPT II if required by state.
• Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire, with preference for maintaining current certification.

Encino Hospital Medical Center offers competitive compensation with a current range of $21.00 to $35.91 per hour. The exact starting compensation will be determined at the time of selection, considering skill set, experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
