Position: CPSP Health Educator I

Overview

C.P.S.P. Health Educator I – Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program

Responsibilities
  • Work under the direct supervision of the Clinic Administrator.
  • Provide ongoing prenatal and postpartum health education services on a one-on-one basis or in groups.
  • Facilitate access for women to existing medical/clinical services, their children, and their families.
  • Participate in educational and awareness campaigns to develop collaborative support and referrals for the Clinic.
  • Develop program reports, narrative activity descriptions, reviews, and other reports for evaluating and analyzing program activities.
  • May assist in writing proposals and generating quarterly reports to management and funding sources.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Clinic Administrator.
  • Lead CPSP role: supervise other CPSPs (if designated as Lead).
Other Requirements
  • Excellent verbal communication, written and public speaking skills.
  • Sensitivity and experience working with minority populations; ability to communicate to various subcultures, especially within the Latino community.
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English) capabilities required.
  • Present a professional, pleasant, and effective representation of the Corporation.
  • Mature judgment, tact, discretion, and confidentiality.
  • Must possess a dependable automobile with insurance and a valid California Driver's License.
  • Must submit to and pass a drug test and criminal background check as a precondition to employment.
  • Must provide proof of vaccination for COVID-19 with booster, Hepatitis B, TDAP, and MMR; TB test required; BLS/CPR certification required.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma and three (3) years of experience in community development work.
  • Requires CPSP Certification.
