Position: Consumer Services Coordinator - Bilingual (SP) - Job #1009

Organization

North Los Angeles County Regional Center "NLACRC" is a private, non‑profit agency contracted with the State of California, Department of Developmental Services, providing services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. NLACRC serves the San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita Valley, and Antelope Valley.

Pay Range

$26.33/hr – $37.18/hr

Department

Consumer Services - SFV - School Age 9.

Supervision

Receives supervision from Consumer Services Supervisors/Managers.

Position Summary

Consumer Services Coordinator – provides information, advocacy, and service arrangement for consumers and families, participates in program planning, coordinates services, documents, serves as advocate, schedules and attends interdisciplinary meetings, identifies barriers, and rotates officer‑of‑the‑day duties.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in the development of program plans for individuals; monitor and evaluate these plans and revise as necessary.
  • Identify and coordinate services for individuals and their families.
  • Document, complete forms and reports in accordance with regulations and NLACRC policies and procedures.
  • Serve as an advocate for individuals served by community agencies.
  • Schedule and attend interdisciplinary meetings with individuals served, family members, service providers, advocates, etc.
  • Identify barriers to service delivery and implement culturally sensitive strategies.
  • Rotate officer‑of‑the‑day duties with other Service Coordinators and provide case coverage and emergency on‑call services when required.
Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, sociology, or a related human services field and at least two years of related experience. A Master’s degree in a related subject may be substituted for experience.

Skills & Abilities

Understanding of family systems and appreciation for person‑centered planning; knowledge of intellectual and developmental disabilities; excellent organizational, independent and cooperative teamwork, verbal and written communication, proficiency with MS Word and Outlook.

Essential Requirements
  • Service coordination requires meeting individuals and families in homes, community, or office.
  • Must be comfortable working independently with high degree of autonomy.
  • Frequent telephone, virtual, and out‑of‑office meetings required.
  • Valid California Driver’s License and reliable transportation (or acceptable substitute) required.
  • Bilingual Spanish may be required depending on position.

Compensation
