Per Diem Echo Sonographer - Pediatric Congenital - 8-Hour Day Shift

• Assist in all echocardiograms performed in the Non‑Invasive Cardiac Laboratory (Echo) for the pediatric and adult congenital cardiac population.
• Participate in the fetal echocardiography laboratory.
• Provide support to outpatient and inpatient services, operating suite, and catheterization lab for efficient operations.
• Ensure a safe patient care environment.
• Perform transthoracic echocardiograms using state‑of‑the‑art ultrasound equipment to diagnose and manage cardiac conditions.
• Assist cardiologists in the acquisition of transesophageal, intracardiac, and epicardial echocardiograms.
• Consistently demonstrate proficiency in the performance of all procedures and competency in the use of all related ultrasound equipment and computers.
• Actively participate in departmental and performance improvement activities and mentor other staff. Collect and document data to meet clinical, financial, and regulatory requirements.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduation from a 2‑year accredited ultrasound school preferred.
• Current RDCS issued by ARDMS or RCS issued by Cardiovascular Credentialing International in Pediatric and/or Adult preferred.
• BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required.
• A minimum of 5 years of sonographer experience required for Sonographer III. Applicants with less than 5 years may be considered as a Sonographer I or II.
• At least 1 year of experience as a full‑time pediatric sonographer or completion of a formal pediatric/congenital sonographer training program preferred.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with people of diverse cultural and educational backgrounds.
• Availability for 24/7 on‑call activities.
• Commitment to significant ongoing congenital and pediatric training and adherence to extensive congenital protocols/workflows to ensure high standards.
