Receptionist Position

Position Overview

The Front Desk Receptionist plays a critical role in the success of the practice. The individual must maintain a positive attitude and make patients feel welcomed, both in‑person and over the phone. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication skills, exude positivity, and thrive in a fast‑paced environment. Experience in a chiropractic or healthcare clinic or a similar setting is preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Greet all patients and visitors with a smile and an enthusiastic verbal greeting.
  • Answer phones, return voicemails, and screen calls for practitioners.
  • Check patients in and out of the practice, including scheduling future appointments and collecting payment.
  • Obtain new patient intake forms, copies of driver’s license and insurance card, and a credit card for payments.
  • Take vitals (height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, etc.) for all new patients.
  • Assist providers with patients, e.g., placing patients on the roller table, applying e‑stim.
  • Verify new patient’s insurance information and create files.
  • Monitor patient communication platforms such as Classpass, Dear Doc, Zocdoc, and others, responding promptly to new appointment requests.
  • Call patients to confirm upcoming appointments.
  • Call patients to check on how they are feeling after appointments.
  • Create new sales opportunities by promoting all services the practice offers to all patients encountered.
Qualifications
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Effective and clear communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational skills; maintains a neat workspace and adheres to HIPAA compliance policies.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Remain calm under pressure; can multitask and handle multiple calls at once.
  • Proficient computer skills.
Education and Experience
  • Medical office experience preferred.
  • Prior experience in a customer‑facing position, preferably as a receptionist.
  • High school degree or equivalent.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must have the ability to see up close with or without vision correction.
  • Must possess the ability to communicate and comprehend information.
