Pay Range: $9,157.00 - $10,951.00 U and $10,809.00 - $13,272.00 V. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.
Location:
Los Angeles County, Metropolitan State Hospital, Norwalk.
Work Location:
In Office. Job Type: Permanent, Full Time. Facilities: DSH - Metropolitan.
Under direction of a Senior Psychologist, the Clinical Psychologist participates in a multidisciplinary treatment team providing assessments, diagnostic clarification, and treatment for patients in a State Hospital setting.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing assessments, diagnostic clarification, and treatment for patients adjudicated with PC1370 incompetent to stand trial, PC1026 not guilty by reason of insanity, or committed under LPS conservatorship.
- Working with a population of acute mental illness in a forensic or locked psychiatric facility.
- Performing forensic psychological assessments and procedures.
- Working in any unit/program and any shift as needed.
- Possession of education and experience for the appropriate specialty (Clinical, Counseling, Educational, Experimental, or Social) as outlined in Section 1396 of the Board of Psychology's Regulations.
- Eligibility by way of permanent civil service status, employment list, transfer eligibility, or reinstatement eligibility.
- Prior experience working at DSH, CONREP, CDCR, County Jail, Locked LPS Hospital, IMD or similar facility.
- Submit a State Application Form (STD 678) with an original signature.
