Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior is seeking to hire a part-time Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join the UCLA Student Health Program. You will provide therapy to UCLA students referred by the Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS). Primary duties include:

  • Providing clinical evaluation of new patients, assessing suitability for outpatient therapeutic care, and need for additional mental health services including psychiatric intervention
  • Formulating treatment plans based on assessment
  • Providing individual, couple, and/or group psychotherapy for patients
  • Documenting and entering patient information into medical records
  • Evaluating and referring patients for additional or alternative modes of care
Job Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related mental health field
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of California
  • Experience and skill in interacting with professional healthcare providers in a multidisciplinary setting
  • Ability to develop rapport and working therapeutic alliances with patients
  • Timely completion of documentation
  • Working knowledge of general theoretical and clinical models
  • Strong computer skills and ability to learn UCLA Care Connect software
  • Strong self-management and organizational skills to meet job responsibilities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, especially in behaviorally specific treatment planning
