Instructional Lab Technician, Senior - Life Sciences
The University of Southern California (USC) is a world‑class research university located in downtown Los Angeles. The USC Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences seeks an Instructional Lab Technician (Senior) to serve the Life Sciences division in the Dornsife Academic Support Hub. The hub provides localized support to approximately 35 academic departments, fostering instructional and research engagement throughout the Dornsife community.
Responsibilities- Coordinate and plan laboratory exercises with lecturers.
- Test and conduct experiments, exercises, and demonstrations.
- Construct, adapt, or acquire specialized laboratory equipment to meet specific instructional or research needs.
- Provide technical assistance regarding pre‑ and post‑experiment preparations and processes.
- Maintain the research facility in an orderly, operable condition.
- Control and monitor supply inventories.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards of laboratory operations.
- Training in Human Biology, Physiology, Metabolism, Nutrition, or a related field.
- Experience with testing human performance and conducting bio‑assay/wet lab experiments involving biological samples.
- Experience working with research rodent.
- Experience in higher education, specifically working in laboratory environments.
- Ability to effectively lead laboratory safety procedures and compliance.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with proper use and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
