Role Responsibilities
  • Applying ionizing radiation according to MD's prescription (3D, IMRT, SBRT, SRS, HDR)
  • Patient scheduling and appointments
  • Performing dose calculations
  • Treatment data entry
  • Collaborating with physicians, physicists, and dosimetrists to perform simulations and treatment planning CTs
  • Note:

    May be hired as Radiation Therapist if you possess less than 5 years of experience.

    Salary Range

    Senior Radiation Therapist: $66.04 - $87.12 Hourly

    Radiation Therapist: $61.60 - $81.28 Hourly

    Qualifications

    Required:
    • ARRT License
    • CRT License
    • 5 or more years radiation therapy experience
    • BLS/CPR certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
    • Experience with treatment machines such as MR Scanner, CT Scanner, HDR units, and Linear Accelerators; ability to recognize hazardous conditions
    • Experience with Truebeam, Tomotherapy, Novalis, CT, and MR-guided RT
    • Ability to lift cerrobend blocks weighing up to 35 pounds
    • Knowledge of basic physics relevant to Radiation Therapy
    • Proficiency with electronic calculators for dose calculations
    • Ability to communicate technical aspects of Radiation Therapy clearly to patients
    • Skill in recognizing and reporting adverse patient reactions
    • Knowledge of thermo-luminescent dosimeters principles and applications
    • Ability to interpret medical documents and implement computer-generated physics treatment plans
    • Knowledge of basic nursing procedures
    • Understanding of procedures for isolating immuno-suppressed patients
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians and physicists
    Preferred:
    • Experience with Aria and Epic systems
