Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of the annual audit plan using risk assessments, operational changes, and historical audit data.
- Supervise audit staff, oversee evaluations, and ensure team activities align with internal standards.
- Coordinate with external auditors and ensure documentation meets professional audit guidelines.
- Monitor corrective actions post-audit to confirm risks are addressed and controls are implemented.
- Present audit findings and recommendations to leadership and prepare reports for executive and committee review.
- A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related business discipline.
- 7-10+ years of experience in financial auditing, internal controls, or public accounting.
- Proficiency in audit software and data analysis tools such as ACL or Microsoft Access.
- Strong ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Familiarity with audit frameworks including GAAS, IIA standards, SOX, and COSO principles.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing audit teams and mentoring junior staff.
- Skilled in evaluating operational processes and identifying control gaps or inefficiencies.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- High level of integrity, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently.
- Professional certifications such as CIA, CPA, or CFE are preferred.
