Controllers must have solid communication, technology, analytical and management skills. Candidates should possess technical accounting knowledge of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

• Planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions.
• Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results.
• Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements.
• Coordinating activities of external auditors.
• Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process.
• Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes.
• Evaluating accounting and internal control systems.
• Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed.
• Developing and monitoring business performance metrics.
• Overseeing regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance.
• Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Training and retaining skilled accounting staff.
• Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for month end financials.
• Monitor compliance with debt covenants.
• Additional duties and projects as assigned.

• At least 6 years of Controller experience, while having issued audited financial statements.
• CPA preferred.
• Proficiency in Oracle Fusion ERP; experience in the grocery industry highly preferred.
• A self-starter and a problem solver; approaches all situations with a “get it done” attitude.
• Ability to work in a fast pace environment.
• Ability to work full-time, and in-person, at our Corporate Office in Vernon, CA.
• Has a competent understanding of computers and financial systems.
• Skilled in Google Suite and MS Office (especially Excel).

• $120,000 - $160,000 / year (based on experience)
