A leading, high-growth investment management firm is expanding its Private Equity Finance team and seeking an Associate VP, Private Equity Accounting to join its Los Angeles office. This is a high-visibility role offering broad exposure across fund accounting, operations, valuations, tax coordination, and investor support — with a clear path for internal growth.
Salary range: $170-$185k + $30-$50k annual bonus, $200-$235K total full comp 1st year
3 days/week in office

Responsibilities- Oversee day-to-day operations for multiple private equity funds with complex structures
- Lead quarterly and annual GAAP financial reporting in partnership with administrators and auditors
- Review management fees, capital accounts, and waterfall calculations
- Manage fund liquidity including cash forecasting, capital calls, distributions, and credit facilities
- Coordinate tax workflows with internal and external tax teams
- Support investor inquiries and marketing materials for upcoming fund launches
- Own compliance and regulatory reporting requirements
- Partner with investment operations and performance teams
- Drive process improvements, system enhancements, and administrator onboarding
- Supervise external administrators and collaborate with offshore teams (Mumbai)
- ~6-8 years of experience; prior Manager–level experience or equivalent
- Big 4 public accounting and/or private equity fund experience strongly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
- CPA or CPA candidate preferred
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with Geneva, Investran, or similar systems a plus
- Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communicator with excellent judgment and a collaborative mindset
