Overview
Portfolio Manager - Power and Project Finance at Bank of Hope. This role involves structuring and managing project finance transactions in the power and telecom lending space, coordinating with internal teams and external clients to meet financing needs while ensuring compliance with bank policies.
Responsibilities- Work with the Head PM, other Portfolio Managers, Relationship Managers, and Credit Analysts in the Project Finance & Telecom lending unit.
- Utilize appropriate models, templates, software (Moody’s, CRM, Trend Cards, etc.) for credit approval and monitoring.
- Assist with structuring, due diligence, and underwriting of credit facilities, including term loans, bridge loans, revolving and working capital lines. This includes bilateral, club, and syndicated loans.
- Collaborate with Head PM and Relationship Managers on deal structures customized to meet each client’s financing needs and comply with bank policies and guidelines.
- Actively participate in the internal credit Loan Approval Process, assisting Head PM and Relationship Managers presenting transactions to Senior Management and loan committees.
- Ensure credit documentation meets bank policy and is appropriate for each transaction.
- Manage and monitor the loan portfolio on a name-by-name basis and in aggregate to ensure a balanced, diversified risk/return.
- Ensure credit ratings are appropriate and upgrades/downgrades are processed proactively and timely.
- Recommend or decline loan requests in conformance with banking regulations (BSA, OFAC, USA Patriot Act, CRA, Privacy, Security) and the Bank’s loan policies and procedures.
- Maintain and cultivate effective working relationships with internal stakeholders (originations, legal, accounting, compliance, operations, senior management) and external clients (borrowers, external counsel, consultants, regulators).
- Work with regulators and internal credit reviewers to validate credit quality and integrity of the credit process.
- Develop and mentor junior staff.
- Has 5+ years of experience and knowledge in the power & project finance space.
- Ability to analyze and organize financial information and perform complex financial calculations.
- Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations.
- Excellent analytical skills including the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
The salary range for this full-time position is $ - $ + bonus + benefits. Salary ranges are determined based on qualifications, level, and location. Exact compensation may vary based on your skills and experience.
