Risk Manager/Analyst
A well-established organization within the manufacturing and construction industry is seeking an experienced Credit Manager to oversee credit and collections operations. Reporting to senior leadership, this role is responsible for evaluating customer creditworthiness, managing accounts receivable risk, and supporting sales growth while maintaining strong customer relationships. This position plays a key role in balancing risk management with operational and customer service excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate and approve customer credit applications, including financial statement analysis and credit risk assessment
- Establish, monitor, and adjust credit limits and payment terms in accordance with company policies
- Oversee accounts receivable exposure and manage collection of past-due accounts
- Lead collection strategies while maintaining positive relationships with customers
- Oversee issuance of California preliminary notices and mechanics liens in compliance with applicable laws
- Resolve billing discrepancies and negotiate payment plans as needed
- Develop, enforce, and continuously improve credit policies, processes, and documentation
- Prepare credit and AR reports, providing insights and risk analysis to leadership
- Communicate professionally with executives, business owners, internal stakeholders, and external customers regarding credit matters
- Manage, train, and support credit/AR staff
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and applicable regulations
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to credit operations
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field required
- 5+ years of credit management experience within a manufacturing, construction, or B2B environment
- Strong knowledge of California preliminary notice and mechanics lien laws
- Experience managing EDI processes with large-scale retailers and mass resellers
- Proficiency with ERP systems and accounts receivable reporting tools
- Strong analytical, mathematical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities, with the confidence to engage senior leadership and external partners
- Proven job stability with a consistent work history
- High level of discretion, judgment, and integrity
