LOGOS Faith Development is seeking a Director of Finance to lead debt capital markets across an active Affordable Housing pipeline in Los Angeles. This is a hands‑on role focused on construction financing, lender execution, and permanent loan takeouts. You will be the primary point of contact for lenders from initial outreach through closing, then through stabilization and permanent financing.
We have a high‑volume 2026 pipeline. Large numbers of projects are slated to require financing this year, with multiple construction starts beginning as early as late Q1. The goal is to bring in a dedicated debt lead who can run lender processes end‑to‑end, keep lenders accountable, and coordinate tightly with the internal development team so closings do not slip.
This role is debt focused. Equity is handled separately by leadership.
Key Responsibilities- Own all debt financing efforts across the 2026 pipeline. Construction loans + permanent loan takeouts
- Source, structure, negotiate, and close construction financing on strict timelines
- Manage lender relationships day‑to‑day. Maintain urgency, drive responsiveness, and hold lenders accountable to deliverables
- Lead internal‑to‑lender coordination. Gather project updates, budgets, schedules, third‑party reports, and ensure the lender package stays complete & current
- Run closing processes. Term sheets, underwriting Q&A, approvals, legal coordination, conditions precedent, and funding
- Maintain a live debt financing tracker across all projects. Key dates, deliverables, open items, risks, next steps
- Execute permanent loan strategy post‑delivery. Refinance construction debt upon stabilization into long‑term permanent financing
- Partner closely with Development to ensure lender requirements align with construction start dates & project milestones
- Support leadership with clear updates, options, trade‑offs, and recommendations related to debt strategy
- 5+ years of experience in Real Estate debt. Strong preference for lender‑side experience
- Demonstrated construction financing experience, including closing construction loans
- Demonstrated permanent financing experience, including takeout strategy for stabilized assets
- Affordable Housing experience strongly preferred. LIHTC exposure is a major plus although not needed
- Strong working knowledge of lender underwriting requirements, closing process, and loan documentation workflow
- Comfortable operating in a fast‑moving environment with multiple simultaneous financings
- Execution‑first. You drive processes to closure & do not let items stall
- Exceptionally organized with strong attention to detail. You keep multiple deals moving at once
- Confident communicator who can manage upward & across stakeholders
- High urgency & persistence. Comfortable following up repeatedly to keep lenders moving
- Collaborative mindset with internal teams. You translate lender needs into clear internal actions
- Calm under pressure with the ability to prioritize quickly when timelines shift
