Black Line is seeking a highly motivated and meticulous Senior Commissions Accountant to join our Global Commission Team. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Variable Compensation, you will master the end-to-end commission accounting process and command the full spectrum of monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities. We are looking for an agile thinker with a talent for rapidly mastering new systems and complex data landscapes.

In this pivotal role, you will translate raw data into powerful, commission-focused intelligence, directly influencing and shaping the strategic direction of our business.

• Own the Close Process:
  Command the monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close processes, including commission accruals, journal entries, flux analysis, amortization schedules, and payroll validation.
• Master Complex Reconciliations:
  Prepare and manage intricate account reconciliations related to commissions, ensuring impeccable accuracy.
• Serve as the Subject Matter Expert:
  Act as the go‑to expert for all commission accounting topics and requests, providing critical guidance to stakeholders.
• Manage Partner Commissions:
  Take full accountability for all aspects of Black Line’s solution partner program, overseeing the quarterly commission process from accrual and amortization to final calculation and payout.
• Lead Audit & Controls:
  Serve as the primary point of contact for all internal and external commission‑related audits. You will prepare audit schedules, resolve inquiries, and uphold a robust internal control system.
• Drive Process Improvement:
  Proactively identify opportunities to enhance efficiency within the department, ensuring all commission processes are aligned with company policy, procedures, and controls.
• Become a Systems Expert:
  Develop a deep understanding of the SAP/Callidus commission software platform, becoming a power user and key team resource.
• Ensure ASC 606 Compliance:
  Analyze payments and synthesize data to determine the accounting impact under ASC 606 guidelines.
• Contribute to Ad‑Hoc Projects:
  Participate in special projects and perform ad‑hoc analysis and reporting as needed to support the finance organization.

Placement within this range depends upon several factors, including the applicant’s prior relevant job experience, skill set, and geographic location.
