The Trade Transaction Management Assistant supports the end‑to‑end management of residential mortgage loan trades, from bid award through due diligence, settlement, and post‑closing reporting. This role is highly detail‑oriented and data‑driven, working closely with the Trade Transaction Manager, data analytics team, TPR vendors, servicers, and collateral custodians to keep trades on track and accurately reflected in internal systems and trackers.
Key Responsibilities Trade and Data Support- Assist with maintaining the Trade/Transaction Tracker, ensuring trade‑level and loan‑level data (pool data, bid data, diligence status, settlement milestones) are accurate and current.
- Help receive, log, and reconcile bid tapes, priced tapes, and other trade files; coordinate with data analytics to resolve discrepancies.
- Support the boarding of awarded pools into internal systems (e.g., M3) and shared workbooks, performing data checks for completeness and consistency.
- Track status of valuation, TPR, collateral, and servicing deliverables against the trade transaction lifecycle.
- Maintain links and references to due diligence folders, TPR outputs, collateral reports, and related documentation.
- Prepare summary status reports and exception lists for internal review and client updates.
- Provide logistical and data support for interactions with:
- Investors/buyers
- Sellers
- TPR firms
- Collateral custodians
- Servicers
- Assist in preparing and reviewing funding/settlement schedules, population files, and Mortgage Loan Schedules (MLS) for accuracy.
- Help track completion of key post‑closing steps (data activation, servicing transfer confirmation, exception cures, TPR data loading, ASF and supplemental data boarding).
- Document recurring tasks, checklists, and standard operating procedures to support cross‑training and scale.
- Identify and flag process gaps, data issues, or breakdowns in communication so they can be addressed early.
- Support continuous improvement efforts, including light automation or template enhancements using Excel and related tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, math, data analytics, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
- 1–3 years of experience in mortgage operations, loan servicing, trade operations, or a similar analytical/operations role preferred.
- Strong Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables, filters, data validation); comfort working with large data sets.
- High attention to detail and accuracy; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills; able to interact with internal stakeholders and external counter parties in a professional manner.
- Familiarity with residential mortgage loan data (loan terms, balances, collateral information, servicing fields).
- Experience working with third‑party review firms, custodians, or servicers is a plus.
- Exposure to loan trading, whole‑loan operations, or collateral/servicing transfers is beneficial.
- Ownership mindset and willingness to “chase down” missing information.
- Structured, process‑driven approach with comfort in checklists and status tracking.
- Ability to work collaboratively across functions (trade management, data, servicing, collateral, TPR).
- Comfort in a growing, evolving environment where processes and tools are being improved and automated.
