SUMMARY
The SBA Operations Officer is responsible for various administrative and reporting duties for SBA Lending Division under the supervision of SBA Operations Manager. Ensures the performance of all duties in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures, all U.S. state and federal laws and regulations including the U.S. SBA, wherein the company operates. Ensures compliance with established Bank policies and procedures.
Demonstrates knowledge of, adherence to, monitoring and responsibility for compliance with state and federal regulations and laws as they pertain to this position including but not limited to the following: GLBA (Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act), Regulation Z (Truth in Lending Act), Regulation DD (Truth in Savings Act) Regulation B (Equal Credit Opportunity Act), Dodd–Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (Dodd Frank Act), Elder Abuse Laws, Bank Secrecy Act in conjunction with the USA PATRIOT Act, Anti-Money Laundering and Customer Information Program, Right to Financial Privacy Act (state and federal) and Community Reinvestment Act.
REQUIRED DUTIES
Prepares and transmits monthly 1502 Reporting for all SBA loans.Coordinates SBA secondary market loan sales.Maintains record functions and data input to the loan accounting system.Maintains and produces assigned periodic reports.Prepares loan documents for servicing actions if assigned.Completes other administrative tasks including, but not limited to, document production and printing, photocopying, faxing, scanning, and electronic file transferring.Escalates potential problems to the SBA Operations Manager, SBA Closing Manager, SBA Banking Managers, SBA Credit Manager or Chief SBA Lending Officer to ensure quality customer service and timely closing for the client and the Bank.Conducts post-closing audit quality meets the Bank and SBA standards if assigned.Continues with industry education and educate team on best practices.Works with in-house legal counsel, Bank leasing officers, originators and borrowers regarding issues/problems related to documentation, closing, funding and recording of the loan.Assumes responsibility for various job duties in the absence of staff members or in overload situations.Follows policies and procedures; completes tasks correctly and on time; supports the Bank’s goals and values.Treats people with respect; keeps commitments; inspires the trust of others; works ethically and with integrity; upholds organizational values; accepts responsibility for own actions.Demonstrates knowledge of and adherence to EEO policy; shows respect and sensitivity for cultural differences; educates others on the value of diversity; promotes working environment free of harassment of any type; builds a diverse workforce and supports affirmative action.Performs the position safely, without endangering the health or safety to themselves or others and will be expected to report potentially unsafe conditions. - Bachelor’s degree and at least 5-7 years or more years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience. Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be business or financial industry related. Work related experience should consist of an in-depth background in commercial finance administration and documentation.
- Intermediate experience, knowledge and training in all Commercial, C & I, or SBA operational and lending activities and terminology.
- Intermediate knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, Company operational policies and procedures, and the Company’s products and services.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures.
