POSITION SUMMARY

The Controller is responsible for the company’s accounting practices and the preparation of financial reports. Responsibilities include budgeting, forecasting, financial control systems, tax compliance, financing compliance and partner reporting. Provide support to the VP of Finance and the Accounting department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Planning, directing, and coordinating all accounting operational functions
  • Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements
  • Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
  • Preparation of accurate and timely financial statements on a monthly basis under Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Maintain a system of materially accurate costing, including inventory and work-in-process management
  • Monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and accurate coding of P&L transactions.
  • Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results
  • Managing the budget process
  • Cash flow management
  • Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement, and implementing new processes
  • Evaluating accounting and internal control systems
  • Overseeing regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance
  • Hiring, training, and retaining skilled accounting staff
  • Request for Proposal (RFP) pricing support.
  • Monitor staff productivity through internal performance systems.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum of five years of experience in financial leadership roles
  • Ability to communicate with peers, managers, vendors, and clients in a constructive and effective manner
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and supervise a staff team
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced office setting
  • Proven skills in business, financial management and strategic planning
  • Proficiency with Net Suite & Avalara
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
