Position Overview
Target Compensation: $140,000 - $170,000 base salary + bonus
Our client is a privately held organization with a range of diverse business interests.
We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our client’s team.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited for someone who enjoys working in a small, entrepreneurial environment and can manage multiple priorities effectively.
The Controller will oversee all accounting and financial functions
, lead the accounting team
, and support the CEO with financial analysis, reporting, and investment-related decisions.
- Lead and oversee the accounting team.
- Review and ensure accuracy and timeliness of all financial statements and reports.
- Manage all internal and external financial operations.
- Review reports, identify key findings, take corrective action, and update the CEO regularly.
- Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and cash flow management.
- Manage company financing and refinancing activities.
- Maintain compliance with accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and strengthen policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Continuously look for ways to improve efficiency and profitability.
- Handle recruitment, performance management, and team development within the department.
- Monitor the performance of existing investments.
- Recommend improvements when performance goals are not met.
- Work closely with the CEO to identify and evaluate new investment opportunities.
- Support the company’s strategic growth initiatives.
- Manage financing and oversee the full acquisition process from start to close.
- Ensure appropriate insurance coverage for all investments.
- Oversee refinancing processes and asset-related financing activities.
- Manage stock portfolios, private equity, and other financial assets.
- Maximize returns across all investment classes.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Controller in the U.S.
- Proven background in investment analysis, financial evaluation, and IRR calculations.
- Strong background managing a team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
- Excellent leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Skilled in project management - able to plan, execute, and deliver efficiently.
- Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
