Summary:
The Credit Analyst supports commercial lending operations by underwriting loan requests, analyzing financial data, and preparing documentation needed for sound credit decisions. This role partners closely with the credit administration and commercial lending teams to ensure loans are processed accurately, compliantly, and in accordance with internal policies and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, professional, and eager to apply strong analytical skills within a fast-paced banking environment.
What You’ll Do:- Assist in underwriting commercial loan products in alignment with lending policies, prudent practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze borrower financials by preparing spreads, reviewing statements, and assessing creditworthiness.
- Conduct site visits with new and existing borrowers to gather information and assess risk.
- Review loan files for accuracy, documentation completeness, and compliance with regulations such as Equal Credit, Fair Credit Reporting, and BSA.
- Monitor tickler items and follow up on outstanding documentation.
- Support customer inquiries, obtain required information from clients, and communicate professionally across departments.
- Maintain high awareness of compliance, credit quality, documentation standards, and operational procedures.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records, reports, and communication related to credit decisions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a professional customer-facing presence.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets, word processing, and core banking systems.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial statements and technical information.
- Ability to identify issues, collect data, evaluate facts, and recommend conclusions.
- Comfortable handling sensitive information and responding to complex inquiries.
- Ability to retain broad lending knowledge and adapt to evolving regulatory requirements.
