AboutThe Role
As VP of Finance, you’ll guide our financial raft through stormy seas, turning every budget challenge into buried treasure. You’ll keep the company profitable, forecast airtight, and build a palm-frond Excel sheet on a deserted island.
Responsibilities- Leadership:
- Lead by example, living goodr’s values of Fun and Authenticity.
- Leverage communication, professionalism, and vision fundamentals.
- Hold monthly one‑on‑ones and empower the team.
- Provide consistent feedback and challenge your flock to grow.
- Own the team’s budget and ensure accuracy.
- Set and communicate team goals.
- Challenge the status‑quo always.
- Role Specific:
- Own the strategic financial roadmap and align with long‑term goals.
- Manage internal and external financial reporting.
- Provide insights into performance and key metrics.
- Partner with executive leadership for decision‑making.
- Ensure compliance with regulations, standards, and statutory requirements.
- Oversee cash flow, working capital, liquidity planning.
- Manage external audits and internal controls.
- Oversee tax reporting.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range planning.
- Ensure GAAP compliance of financial statements.
- Develop accounting policies and controls.
- Manage general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, inventory, fixed assets, revenue recognition, and treasury.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team.
- Improve finance systems, tools, and processes.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks.
- Provide financial modeling and scenario planning.
- Deliver executive presentations and board reporting.
- Build a high‑performing team and partner across functions.
- Report directly to the Chief Financial Officer.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
The Ideal Candidate
- Degree background: not required, but bonus points for creative degrees.
- Asks many questions.
- 12+ years of managerial experience, 5+ in senior leadership.
- Deep understanding of financial and accounting principles.
- Develop financial strategies aligned with company goals.
- Communicate financial information to senior management.
- FP&A guru.
- Expert in Microsoft Excel.
- Familiar with Netsuite.
- Experience in financial reporting, budgeting/forecasting, and long‑range planning.
- Strong GAAP, regulatory compliance, internal controls knowledge.
- Aggressive communicator and direction giver.
- Understands team dynamics deeply.
- Experience in scaling or high‑growth environments.
- Organizational skills, attention to detail, multi‑tasking.
