2K is headquartered in Novato, California and is a wholly owned label of Take‑Two Interactive Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTWO). Founded in 2005, 2K Games is a global video game company publishing titles developed by some of the world’s most influential game development studios. Our studios—Visual Concepts, Firaxis, Hangar 13, Cat Daddy, Cloud Chamber, 31st Union, HB Studios, and 2K Sports Lab—create world‑class games across multiple platforms.

A visionary architect of the "ground truth" aesthetic. You will define the visual direction for characters and immersive worlds, bridging the gap between high‑end art direction and disruptive R&D workflows. You’ll ensure that new technology empowers artists to reach unprecedented fidelity without legacy friction.

• Establish Ground Truth:
  Define definitive aesthetic targets and source assets for the project.
• Direct Hero/NPC Visuals:
  Lead the design of high‑fidelity characters for both combat and cinema.
• Close the Film Gap:
  Drive real‑time visuals toward pre‑rendered standards in lighting and performance.
• Lead R&D Art Pipelines:
  Collaborate with Engineers to prototype tools that accelerate asset creation.
• Validate Quality:
  Act as the final authority on the aesthetic integrity of R&D‑generated assets.
• Mentor Culture:
  Transition the team from manual execution to high‑level creative direction.

• Artistic Leadership:
  Proven track record as a Lead/Director on AAA titles (UE5 preferred).
• Character Mastery:
  Sophisticated understanding of anatomy, materials, and lighting.
• Cinematic Eye:
  Strong background in filmic composition and performance.
• Technical Literacy:
  Comfortable discussing procedural systems and new tech with engineers.
• Innovation Focused: A deep desire to disrupt traditional pipelines to achieve higher efficiency.

The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between ¥154,400 and ¥220,000 per year. Base pay offered is based on market location and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Total compensation may also include other elements such as a bonus and/or equity awards and eligibility to participate in our 401(k) plan and Employee Stock Purchase Program.
