Drafting Field Assistant

Job Title: Part-Time Drafting Assistant (Student Position)

Pay: $19 - $21 per hour (based on availability, reliability, and performance)
Job Type: Part-Time | Flexible Schedule
Location: Woodland Hills, CA
Shift: Morning shifts starting as early as 7:00 AM

Are you studying Architecture, Engineering, Surveying, Construction Management, or Interior Design? This is an excellent opportunity to gain real-world field experience while working around your class schedule.

We are a top drafting and as-built documentation service in Los Angeles seeking motivated students to assist our field team with measuring, scanning, and documenting buildings. You will work under the supervision of experienced professionals and learn how buildings are captured and documented for architectural and design purposes.

No prior experience required - we will train you.

This role is ideal for students at CSUN or Pierce College due to proximity to our office in Woodland Hills.

This job does not count toward official architecture or engineering licensure hours but may help satisfy certain class requirements. Please confirm with your professor.

• Real-world building measurement techniques
• Laser scanning and digital documentation
• 360° virtual tour capture
• How as-built drawings and architectural documentation are created
• Field workflow used by architects, engineers, and designers

• Assist with measuring buildings and interior spaces
• Use specialized hardware to capture 360° photos and virtual tours
• Support laser scanning of buildings and interiors
• Collect site data for architectural documentation (doors, windows, layouts, etc.)
• Operate surveying equipment to measure distances, elevations, and angles
• Prepare and maintain accurate field notes, sketches, and records
• Assist field team with scanning and documentation tasks
• Handle and maintain sensitive measuring and scanning equipment
• Arrive on time to scheduled site visits
• Wear provided company uniform during site visits
• Maintain a professional attitude when interacting with clients
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced field environment

• Current student in Architecture, Engineering, Surveying, Construction, or related field
• Must live within 10-15 minutes of Woodland Hills
• Ability to read blueprints or schematics is a plus
• Strong attention to detail
• Good communication and teamwork skills
  
  Reliable and punctual
• Comfortable traveling to different job sites
• Ability to stand for long periods while operating equipment
• Ability to lift up to 10 lbs of equipment

• Flexible schedule around your classes
• Must be available at least 2 days per week
• 4-8 hour shifts
• Early morning start times (7 AM)
• Occasional weekend projects
• Optional overtime depending on project needs
