Akkodis is seeking a Data Center Commissioning Technician for a Contract with a client in Fairfax, IA
. The position is responsible for performing I/O testing and functional validation of valves, instrumentation, and mechanical/control systems, as well as supporting commissioning activities across large‑scale datacenter environments.
Rate Range: $35/hour to $40/hour;
The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
- Perform hands‑on I/O checkout, point‑to‑point verification, and functional testing of PLC‑controlled systems, valves, sensors, and instrumentation across datacenter environments.
- Support commissioning activities by executing start/stop tests, alarm/interlock verification, fail‑safe checks, calibration validation, and analog gauge comparisons for pressure, flow, temperature, and level.
- Troubleshoot PLCs, control logic, and automation issues—including company systems—while assisting field teams with diagnostics and re‑testing after corrections.
- Conduct flow tests, verify water‑cooling system performance, and validate operation of pumps, valves, and TSI/PSI instrumentation across critical environments.
- Review drawings, test scripts, and equipment documentation to confirm expected operation and acceptance criteria, escalating issues when discrepancies arise.
- Accurately document test results, deficiencies, and corrective actions while collaborating with commissioning leads, engineers, and onsite technicians to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient system operation.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in electrical/mechanical engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Technology, or a related field (or equivalent military/industry training).
- 3–6 years in controls/automation commissioning, industrial maintenance, or process control with strong field-testing exposure.
- Proven PLC troubleshooting experience I/O checkout, HMI familiarity, and hands‑on diagnostics with instrumentation (pressure, flow, temperature, level).
- Demonstrated experience with water‑cooled systems (pumps, valves, TSI/PSI checks), and executing functional tests (start/stop, interlocks, alarms) in large, mission‑critical facilities.

Pay Details:$35.00 to $40.00 per hour
