Program: Maintenance & Operations – Facilities Conditions Assessment (FCA)
Location: Los Angeles County School Sites – Onsite
Schedule: Full-Time
PADCOM Design & Construction Management Services is seeking a Field Supervisor – HVAC to support district-wide Facilities Condition Assessment activities across LAUSD campuses.
This role evaluates mechanical building systems, gathers facility data, and determines system condition and remaining service life. The position works closely with survey teams and maintenance staff to assess building infrastructure and support long-term facility planning.
Key Responsibilities- Identify and collect building component data for HVAC and mechanical systems installed at District sites.
- Enter field data using tablets, laptops, and other electronic devices.
- Use construction knowledge to identify systems concealed behind walls, ceilings, and floors.
- Assess system condition and determine remaining service life based on field observations and standards.
- Apply LAUSD FCA guidance for Remaining Service Life determinations.
- Collaborate with other trade surveyors to gather measurements, quantities, and building data.
- Conduct and support additional building surveys as required.
- May supervise staff and survey participants and serve as a technical resource.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management
- OR: Minimum 10 years of relevant experience (experience may substitute for degree)
- Experience: At least 6 years of professional experience working with construction or facilities teams in active campus environments
- Skills & Knowledge: Strong understanding of HVAC building systems and construction practices;
Ability to identify concealed building components;
Experience performing field assessments and documentation;
Strong communication and coordination skills;
Proficiency with mobile data collection technology.
Onsite position across active school campuses
Field-based work environment requiring site walks and inspections
May coordinate with school staff during active operations
