Summary
We are currently seeking a Structural Drafter to join our growing team. This role is key in translating structural engineering concepts into precise, detailed drawings that guide construction. The ideal candidate is skilled in computer-aided design (CAD) and/or BIM software, detail-oriented, and experienced in structural drafting across a variety of building types.
Duties & Responsibilities- Drawing & Drafting
- Prepare detailed structural drawings and plans using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software, under the supervision of structural engineers
- Draft construction documents including foundations, framing, floor plans, sections, and details
- Update and revise drawings based on markups and design changes from engineers and project managers
- 3D Modeling & Coordination
- Assist with 3D modeling of structural systems for coordination and visualization
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other drafters to support multidisciplinary coordination
- Quality & Documentation
- Perform quality checks to ensure accuracy, compliance with company standards, and adherence to applicable codes
- Maintain organized documentation and version control of project drawings
- Education
- Associate’s degree or technical diploma in drafting, design technology, or a related field
- Experience
- 2+ years of experience in structural drafting, preferably in an architectural or engineering firm
- Exposure to projects in commercial, healthcare, residential, or institutional sectors
- Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Revit; experience with BIM workflows is a plus
- Familiarity with structural systems including steel, concrete, wood, and masonry
- Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings and specifications
- Experience with Bluebeam, Navisworks, or other coordination tools
- Knowledge of local building codes and construction standards
- Soft Skills
