Project Scheduler - Aviation role at STV in Los Angeles, CA. Join our PM/CM group to support one of our aviation clients onsite.

The TDIP Scheduler reports to the TDIP Project Controls Manager and is ultimately responsible for developing and maintaining detailed construction planning schedules for new construction and renovation work within the Terminal Development & Improvement Program. These schedules may incorporate several scenarios used to finalize construction sequencing and contracting plans for projects such as Airline Terminal Improvement, Airport Service Improvement, Terminal Development, and Asset Renewal.

Participate as an integral member of an owner’s program and project controls team, being directly responsible for scheduling multiple, interdependent large‑scale projects ($100m+ value). Work collaboratively with project managers, construction managers, controls discipline leads, and claims staff to monitor, report on, and negotiate issues. Review designer and contractor submitted schedules and perform analysis as needed. Provide objective assessments of schedule delays using Time Impact Analysis or other methods, present findings to owners or third parties, and engage in discussions with contractors to support negotiations of appropriate settlements.

Job Duties
  • Assist with reviewing project schedule submittals by Design and Contractor Teams.
  • Perform independent analysis of submitted schedules for the Owner, ensuring all schedule submittals meet or exceed contractual requirements. These analyses include, but are not limited to:
    • Preliminary schedules
    • Baseline schedules
    • Four‑week look‑ahead schedules
    • Monthly schedule updates and corresponding recovery schedules, time impact analysis, and time extension requests (as applicable)
    • As‑built project schedules
  • Facilitate coordination on interface issues between multiple projects.
  • Ensure submitted schedules follow LAWA project code and activity code structure.
  • Identify, understand, and apply the relevant sections of the contract to each claim.
  • Assist with change order and claims disputes.
  • Complete analyses of contractor’s delay claims and related time impact analyses within the context of the contract documents and industry practice, identify related disruption, acceleration, and recovery opportunities, and recommend apportionment of delay and/or acceleration in accordance with accepted practices such as AACE International RP 29.
  • Provide reports of analyses and briefing materials as required, developing communications that effectively convey complex project sequencing and forensic assessments.
  • Where applicable, provide observations on potential delay mitigation, communicate schedule issues to the team, and recommend alternatives.
  • Contribute to the advancement of LAWA’s goals through productive collaboration with all stakeholders.
Hardware/Software Knowledge
  • Advanced use of Oracle Primavera software (mastery of Primavera Project Planner v6.0 or higher required), along with related tools such as Schedule Analyzer, Microsoft Project, Claims Digger, etc.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam.
Professional Experience Level/Other Qualifications
  • 2–5 years or more of scheduling experience on an active construction project.
  • Direct forensic scheduling experience to support claims analysis on large‑scale, complex heavy civil, vertical and horizontal projects (at least $200M value and 3‑year or greater duration).
  • Experience with various delivery methods, including Design‑Bid‑Build, Design+CMAR, and Design/Build.
  • Demonstrated experience scheduling multiple concurrent and interrelated projects.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical and schedule information orally and in writing to non‑expert audiences.
