Overview
Topa Group, Inc. is partnering up with a Fire Protection Company looking for a Fire Sprinkler Estimator to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fire protection systems, with the ability to accurately estimate material, labor, and project costs for commercial, industrial, and residential fire sprinkler installations. This role is critical to ensuring the profitability and competitiveness of our bids while maintaining compliance with NFPA standards and local codes.
Responsibilities- Review project specifications, drawings, and RFQs to determine scope of work and requirements.
- Perform detailed material and labor take-offs for fire sprinkler systems.
- Prepare cost estimates, proposals, and bid packages for new construction, retrofits, and tenant improvements.
- Work closely with general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to clarify project details and pricing.
- Collaborate with project managers and design teams to ensure estimates align with project execution.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.
- Maintain accurate records of bids, revisions, and project histories for reference and reporting.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting for upcoming projects.
- Stay current on NFPA codes, industry standards, and new products or technologies.
- 3+ years of experience in fire sprinkler estimating, design, or project management.
- Proficiency with estimating software (such as AutoSPRINK, Hydra
CALC, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite. - Strong understanding of NFPA standards, fire sprinkler systems, and hydraulic calculations.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- NICET Level II or higher in Water-Based Systems Layout.
- Experience with design-build and retrofit projects.
- Familiarity with local and state fire codes.
