ABM, a leading provider of integrated facility solutions, is looking for a Building Engineer at Able Services Field/Engineering, covering all locations.
SummaryThe Union Building Engineer supports designated leadership with the daily operations of all building systems. Responsibilities include hard surface maintenance, basic carpentry, metal work, operating and maintaining HVAC, mechanical and electrical systems, responding to customer requests, submitting and closing work orders, and performing other duties as assigned.
ShiftSwing Shift – Sunday – Thursday – 3:00 pm – 11:00 pm (willing to work OT, if needed).
Pay$46.26 per hour (hourly range or rate; final offer based on experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and market data).

Responsibilities- Maintains and performs repairs to buildings, utilities, grounds, and equipment.
- Optimizes repair and maintenance of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems.
- Provides best practices to troubleshoot and repair equipment and system problems efficiently.
- Maintains continuous operations of equipment by troubleshooting and repairing.
- Provides hands‑on training and collaboration to other engineering team members.
- Fosters a work environment that promotes energy conservation and continuous improvement of engineering functions.
- Records all pertinent data in building logbooks and makes daily entries.
- Conducts utility and equipment tests.
- Records pertinent data on all equipment per federal, state, and local codes.
- Processes administrative paperwork per departmental policies and procedures.
- Actively functions as a team member.
- Demonstrates commitment to quality of service.
- Complies with Able Engineering Services, facilities’ policies, and procedures.
- Participates in Able Engineering Services safety program.
- Participates in facility‑specific safety program.
- Maintains regular attendance.
- Provides highest quality of service to tenants, staff, and visitors.
- Participates in regular communication with Chief Engineer, Assistant Chief Engineer, management, tenants, and other staff.
- Exhibits excellent customer service; willing to work overtime shifts covering tenant events; works in a close team environment.
- Experience commensurate with the specific facility for the position of Engineer.
- 5+ years in the position of engineer.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Highest‑level relevant state/local license for Stationary Engineer and/or HVAC, plus universal level refrigerant recovery license (as required).
- Computer skills and building automation systems experience (required).
- OSHA ACM awareness training requirements certification (as required).
- Working knowledge of energy conservation (required); formal training preferred.
