Jacobs is seeking a dynamic, energetic Business Manager to join our team in El Segundo, CA
. In this role, you’ll work with project leadership and staff to assist in supervising daily Operation & Maintenance (O&M) activities as well as working with the Project Manager to learn O&M systems and tools to provide superior client support. You’ll streamline communication with the client, assist with capital planning, organize and direct the operations, maintenance, and improvement of one or more water treatment plants and satellite facilities.

You’ll also have the opportunity to analyze operational process control procedures, maintenance procedures, and institute changes when necessary to achieve full compliance with all regulatory agency water quality and solids disposal requirements as defined in the service contract with the client. You will be responsible for accurate operational records and prepare reports required by the client, all regulatory agencies, and facility manager;

work closely with all employees at the project site and establish cooperative relationships with subordinates, vendors, contractors, and all others contacted during work assignments; and assume responsibility of facility manager in the absence of the Project Manager.

• Six (6) plus years of experience in the operation and maintenance of a water or wastewater facility
• Four (4) years of project management experience
• California Grade 3 Wastewater
• Ability to operate SCADA systems and other computerized equipment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Valid driver’s license with no major infractions

• BA/BS degree in Engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE)
• Excellent oral and written communications, self-motivation, team-oriented work practices, strong technical problem-solving skills
• Capable of working independently and maintaining an orderly schedule
• Understanding of the technical aspects of the facility to be managed
• Demonstrated interpersonal relations and personnel management skills
• Experience developing and working within an approved budget. Specifically tracking costs, adjusting activities to stay on budget, and optimizing labor and materials
• Proficient with financial budgeting and reports, specifically experience preparing operational reports for both internal and external clients
