Divergent is seeking a skilled and motivated engineer to support the next generation of industry‑leading aerospace vehicle development. We’re committed to transforming vehicles’ structural systems away from traditional manufacturing by using new materials and new technologies. To do this, we need a forward‑looking and innovative engineer who will help shape the future of automotive structures.

• Create and manage CAD designs of the components, as well as the BOM structure.
• Build up and analyze FE Models of Node™‑based vehicle structures applications including validation using hand calculations and optimization.
• Present design summary/reports efficiently at meetings and to other relevant engineers or external parties.
• Create, refine, and execute new technical solutions for automotive structures to support external customer programs and joint development efforts.
• Work collaboratively in a team environment within the DAPS Product Engineering team and cross‑functionally with other disciplines to efficiently design and release structures that are optimized for mass, efficient production, and assembly.
• Work cross‑functionally to implement cost reduction, methods and product improvements, and support prototype and production build activities.
• Maintain technical documentation, including best practices and lessons learned.
• Support vehicle builds and product development testing and troubleshooting.

• Ability to lawfully access information and technology that is subject to US export controls.
• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in structure design.
• CAD experience creating detailed models. Siemens NX is a plus.
• PLM experience. Teamcenter is a plus.
• Experience in structural analysis.
• Experience in analysis software packages such as Nastran, Optistruct, and/or LS‑Dyna.
• Solid understanding of linear/nonlinear behaviours of advanced materials (composites, adhesives, metals) to achieve lightweight structural solutions.
• Experience with aerospace load applications and MIL‑STDs.
• Outstanding comprehension of solid mechanics.
• Solid interpersonal skills and motivated self‑starter who can manage personal workload and execution to tight schedule.

• Experience interfacing with engineering, testing, and manufacturing groups to understand system designs and the associated constraints.
• Experience with DFMEA, DVP, control plans, PPAP and APQP.
• Knowledge of overall vehicle systems/sub‑systems and requirements.
• Experience supporting analysis and completing documentation for product approval and launch.
• Experience supporting structural design and analysis throughout the design, build, and test phases of a development cycle.
