Construction Logistics Specialist II

Location: Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) – CTA, Terminals, Parking Structures, Airside Areas (AOA Apron & Gates)

Client: Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA)

Project Scope: Oversight of projects within CTA, including Terminals, Landside areas (Parking Structures, CUP, Roadways), and Airside (AOA Apron & Gates)

Working Hours: Monday to Friday | 7 AM to 4 PM

Compensation: $110,000 – $116,000 per year plus benefits

Essential

Job Duties

  • Wayfinding specialists with multiple years of airport experience skilled in creating, implementing, and overseeing temporary way finding strategies that support pedestrian flow and user experience.
  • Proficient in assessing signage quality, visual appeal, and adherence to standards, with the ability to recommend sign types specific to each project.
  • Experience managing multiple collaborative way finding projects with multidisciplinary teams, including staff with technical and non-technical backgrounds. Must coordinate across various disciplines, meeting multiple deadlines under pressure in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in reading, interpreting, and analyzing project schedules, Gantt charts, and design plans. Capable of evaluating signage needs based on construction activities, environmental factors, and user expectations to maintain effective way finding.
  • In-depth understanding of signage materials, fabrication methods, color theory, typography, and font specifications. Knowledge of signage, temporary way finding, and mapping industry best practices.
  • Ability to review projects' submittals Phasing Plan and Site Logistics Plans as submitted through the ASR and LIR processes with a keen eye for way finding impacts.
  • Strong visualization skills. Experience in developing concepts, location plans, and proposed way finding paths of travel with high visual impact.
  • Proficient in planning, production, and installation of temporary way finding that translates complex information into easy-to-understand visuals.
  • Hands-on experience with installation procedures, including regular site walks to evaluate signage effectiveness and updates to plans as needed.
  • Skilled in tracking phasing for production, and installation schedules across multiple projects, ensuring timely completion and a holistic approach across projects.
  • High attention to detail in verifying the quality and consistency of signage and way finding elements, ensuring visual appeal and usability across all materials.
Hardware/Software Knowledge
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and Bluebeam for creating, editing, and reviewing visual materials and layouts.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, Publisher, PowerPoint) for project communication, scheduling, and documentation.
Qualifications

  • Experience:

    Minimum 10 years in way finding, signage, or related roles; airport or large building program experience strongly preferred.
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Aviation, Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Planning, or related field required;
    Master’s degree preferred.
  • Certifications (Preferred): AAAE, LEED, PMP, PE, AICP, or other relevant licensure/certifications.
  • Other Requirements:
    Ability to work various shifts as needed; must pass federal background check; LAWA Badge required.
