Mechanical Engineer

Overview

HDR’s Mechanical Engineer will:

• Design and develop HVAC, plumbing and Fire Protection systems for various commercial and industrial buildings.
• Perform load calculations, equipment selection, and system layouts for heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.
• Design plumbing systems including domestic water, sanitary drainage, storm water, and natural gas piping, ensuring compliance with applicable codes.
• Conduct energy modeling and code compliance analysis using Energy Pro.
• Prepare detailed construction documents and drawings using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Establish meetings and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance.
• Conduct work sessions at the project site in conjunction with the Project Manager and other disciplines.
• Collaborate closely with architects, structural and other disciplines throughout all project phases.
• Write and edit mechanical specifications.
• Coordinate with and assist affected disciplines with addenda, RFIs, CPRs and change orders, and take responsibility to incorporate agreed-upon changes into the project documents.
• Provide construction contract administration as needed.
• Conduct QA/QC on the work of other Mechanical Project Engineers, Mechanical Project Coordinators or Mechanical CAD Technicians as needed.
