Join to apply for the Manufacturing Engineer (New Grads: Fall 2025/Spring 2026) role at Divergent
Divergent is a technology company that has architected, invented, built, and commercialized an end‑to‑end factory system called the Divergent Adaptive Production System (DAPS) that comprehensively uses machine learning to optimally engineer, additively manufacture, and flexibly assemble complex integrated vehicle structures and subsystems. Products created using DAPS are superior in performance, lower in cost, rapidly customizable to meet mission and customer‑specific requirements, faster to market, and scalable on demand to high volume production.
Divergent is a qualified Tier 1 supplier to global automotive OEMs, and is now expanding to support mission‑critical needs in the aerospace and defense sector. Join us to be a part of this transformative journey, where your impact will shape the future of technology and production.
The Manufacturing Engineer bridges design and production, optimizing designs for manufacturability while enhancing processes to support high‑reliability hardware. This entry‑level role focuses on learning and applying advanced manufacturing techniques, guiding new concepts through prototype builds, enabling rapid iteration, troubleshooting manufacturing issues, and supporting design maturation into production to uphold Divergent's standards for quality and reliability.
The Role Program & Product Support- Support end‑to‑end manufacturing efforts across multiple development and production products.
- Assist as a technical resource for manufacturing processes, collaborating closely with design, quality, and production teams.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of scalable manufacturing processes aligned with Divergent's technology roadmap.
- Participate in data‑driven initiatives to improve yield, cycle times, and first‑pass quality.
- Support the implementation of automation and digital manufacturing workflows to increase efficiency and repeatability.
- Learn and apply emerging manufacturing technologies to advance Divergent’s competitive capabilities.
- Work with senior engineers to bring new concepts and product designs through the factory, enabling rapid prototyping and iteration.
- Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
- Assist with the introduction and validation of new equipment, tooling, and processes to support high‑reliability manufacturing.
- Support the creation and maintenance of manufacturing documentation, including work instructions and process plans.
- Learn quality and regulatory standards (e.g., AS9100), supporting compliance efforts.
- Participate in resolving hardware nonconformance issues and implementing corrective actions.
- Work in a cross‑functional environment with design, quality, and production teams to solve complex manufacturing problems.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
- Receive mentorship and training from experienced manufacturing engineers to build long‑term technical expertise.
- Ability to lawfully access information and technology that is subject to US export controls.
- Graduating in December 2025 or Spring 2026 with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Siemens NX, AutoCAD).
- Exposure to common manufacturing processes such as machining, fabrication, 3D printing, etc. through coursework, internships, or projects.
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex engineering problems that require planning, collaboration, and application of engineering fundamentals.
- GPA of 3.2 or higher.
- Collegiate hands‑on engineering competition experience (e.g., Formula SAE, Baja SAE, American Solar Challenge, Rocket Project, Robotics Competition, etc.).
- Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
