Land Development Leader (Civil Engineer)

I'm currently working with a well-established and highly respected engineering firm that’s looking to bring on a strong leader to head up their Land Development practice. This is a rare opportunity for a senior-level civil engineer to step into a key role with significant autonomy, the ability to shape a growing team, and a clear path to firm leadership, potentially even ownership.

As the Land Development Lead, you’ll be responsible for managing a talented team of engineers, developing and maintaining strong client relationships, and overseeing the successful delivery of projects from concept through completion. The role offers substantial independence, and the chance to really make your mark within the organization.

You’ll be working with a client that values integrity, open communication, and thoughtful growth. The leadership team is supportive, forward-thinking, and eager to bring in someone who shares their passion for delivering high-quality work and building lasting client partnerships.

• Lead and grow the Land Development team
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders
• Oversee project delivery, budgeting, and profitability
• Mentor and manage junior staff
• Collaborate on vision, planning, and strategy for the practice
• Engage in business development and proposal writing
• Represent the firm in the local development community

• 15+ years of experience in land development
• A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• Strong local network of architects, developers, attorneys, planners, and/or landowners
• Expertise in AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Proven ability to manage projects profitably
• Experience writing proposals, scopes of work, and managing budgets
• Strong leadership and communication skills

• Base Salary: $145,000 – $250,000 depending on experience
• Bonuses: Performance-based bonus structure
