About the RoleWe are seeking a Plumbing Engineer to join a growing MEP consulting firm. This role focuses on the design and engineering of plumbing systems for commercial, multifamily, institutional, and mixed-use projects. The ideal candidate has hands‑on consulting experience, strong code knowledge, and the ability to carry projects from concept through construction.
Key Responsibilities- Design plumbing systems including domestic water, sanitary, storm, gas, and specialty systems
- Perform plumbing calculations (fixture counts, pipe sizing, water heater sizing, pump selection)
- Coordinate with architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection disciplines
- Review and mark up drawings prepared by drafters/designers
- Ensure compliance with IPC, ADA, and local AHJ requirements
- Participate in project coordination meetings and respond to RFIs
- Support permitting, bidding, and construction administration phases
- Conduct limited site visits and field verifications as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline
- 5+ years of plumbing engineering experience in an MEP consulting firm
- Strong understanding of commercial and multifamily plumbing systems
- Proficiency with Revit (MEP) and AutoCAD
- Working knowledge of Florida Plumbing Code and local jurisdiction requirements
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- PE license
- Experience with healthcare, hospitality, or high‑rise projects
- Familiarity with BIM coordination and clash detection
- Exposure to sustainable or LEED‑related plumbing design
- Experience mentoring junior engineers or designers
