Job Title: Student Worker – Mechanical Engineering

Pay rate: $35 - $40/hr on W2

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated Student Worker to support two engineering teams in a technical capacity. This role is similar to an internship but classified as a “student worker.” The position runs through the end of June 2026 with potential for extension based on performance and continued enrollment.

$35.00/hr - $40.00/hr

Education:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred
• Other relevant technical degrees considered

Skills:

• Strong technical aptitude
• Experience with CAD software preferred
• Knowledge of statistics preferred
• Ability to work independently and take initiative

Work Schedule:

• Minimum 20 hours per week
• Part-time or full-time availability considered
• Hybrid work model acceptable
• On-site presence required approximately 8 hours per week, ideally in blocks of 4+ hours
• Recommended on-site day:
  Tuesdays (team meetings)

Role Responsibilities

• Support research, development, and product design activities related to motorized blower systems and subassemblies
• Develop and perform design analysis and sensitivity testing
• Build and support test systems
• Collect, analyze test data using engineering and statistical software
• Facilitate laboratory test installation and qualification documentation
• Candidates will work closely with mentors and rely on established guidelines and instructions to perform tasks.

Qualifications

Basic:

• Part-time or full-time availability
• Currently enrolled in or pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Experience in mechanical design, statistical analysis, data interpretation, and technical writing

Preferred:

• Extensive CAD experience, especially PTC Creo or Solid Works
• Proficient with statistical tools such as Excel, Minitab, or JMP
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated teamwork, leadership, and communication skills
• Enthusiasm for engineering and product development

Additional Information

• This role is primarily on-site in Chatsworth and/or Calabasas, California
• Candidates must be able to attend both remote and in-person meetings
• Employment visa sponsorship is not available
• Preference for candidates who can commit through June 2026 and potentially transition into summer internship roles.
